As the 2017 is coming to an end it is time to sum up what exciting have been happening this year in the hostel industry. Without a doubt the industry is blooming, and for the past 2 years we could see the rise of the boutique and up-scale hostels.
There is this trend that each industry has its own conferences. The ones for the hospitality and the tourism industry are nothing new. However they usually tend to be big and mostly focused on the hotels.
With the technology development and the ease of access to information it is not a news what channel managers are. However I still find some owners and managers of small hostels not aware of the presence of the useful tools that can help their every-day business.
The 2017 was announced by United Nations as an International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. The main point is to increase awareness between travellers, governments and the travel industry itself in order to make a tourism a part of a positive change.
