At the Last Stamp Hostel I have stayed a year ago while I was doing my trip through the north of Spain. This hostel was my first experience as a solo traveller, where I have stayed in the shared dormitory. Here is my review of this cozy hostel.
Northern Spain is my favourite part of this country. Discovering it on my own was such a great experience.
Santiago de Compostela was my last stop during the journey.
It is located in the northwestern part of Spain in the region of Galicia. It became well-known for having the remains of apostle James hidden in the Cathedral. Because of that it became the last stop for the pilgrims from all over the world who overcome Camino de Santiago.
The Last Stamp Hostel
I have chosen this hostel because it was the cheapest (obviously) that I could find. And definitely for the price of 15 euro/night I got an awesome experience!
The Last Stamp you can find in the central part of the old town of Santiago de Compostela. Just a few minutes of walk from the famous Cathedral.
On the beginning I was overwhelmed by the idea of staying in the 10 beds dormitory without any of my friends in the same room.
How surprised I was after discovering that in The Last Stamp you actually don’t feel you are sleeping with so many people! Why? Because beds are divided by the slide doors which actually makes you feel like you are in the room with 4 people!
My room was very spacious and full of light thanks to big windows with the view on the old town of Santiago.
But these is not the only advantage of this hostel. Spacious lockers, opened by electric code, allow you to hide your backpack and charge safely your mobile phone: there are power sockets inside! Safety and convenience on the first place!
During my stay it was very calm in the hostel even thou I saw quite a lot of people, especially in the kitchen. Most of them were relaxing after their long pilgrim journey. Be sure you will have a good sleep in here. Beds are comfortable and each has its private bed lamp so no problem with disturbing your roommates. You can read until late 🙂
On the floor there was only one bathroom with 2 toilets and 1 shower. Despite that I did not wait even once to take a shower!
If you want to socialize definitely kitchen is the place to be. Not to mention that it is also well equipped.
Also important thing: there is computer which you can use with extra charge, free luggage store and a 24- hour reception desk.
Tip: In front of the hostel I discovered really nice and quite cheap place to have a breakfast or lunch and the interior is also very welcoming.
To sum up
All in all I had really nice experience in The Last Stamp. I recommend it especially for all those who are still not convinced to shared dormitories but still would like to give it a go and experience backpacking lifestyle.
Thank you The Last Stamp for such a nice experience and for your photos!
